Valerie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Nazareth College, Rochester, New York and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York.

After moving to Arizona in 1994 Valerie continued her career providing counseling services for children and teens.   Before establishing her private practice in 2014 Valerie's work history included employment as a medical social worker, school counselor, mental health therapist at non-profit mental health agencies and a residential shelter.  As a trauma specialist Valerie provided expert court testimony and collaborates with police and community agencies. 

Valerie is the mother of three sons who share her love of skiing, hiking and animals.
